Liban Mahdi Mohamed*, Nguomo Louba, Belhaouz Ismail, Benhessou Moustapha and Kerroumi Mohamed
ABSTRACT
Breast cancer is a heterogeneous disease. However, immunohistochemistry techniques have made it possible to distinguish 3 types of breast cancer: those which express hormonal receptors (the most common: 68% of cases), others which express the HER2 growth factor receptor (21% of cases) and the triple negative molecular type (the least common 11%). HER 2+ breast cancer is defined by the expression of HER2 receptors. Currently, knowing one's status with respect to the HER2 receptor allows one to know whether one can benefit from targeted anti-HER2 treatment.
