THE PREVALENCE OF DIABETIC CARDIOMYOPATHY-A POPULATION BASED PROSPECTIVE OBSERVATIONAL STUDY AT TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL FROM NORTH INDIA

ABSTRACT
Diabetic cardiomyopathy is relatively common in the community. In the current study, we report that the community population prevalence of diabetic cardiomyopathy is 1.1% and that the morbidity and mortality of patients with the DCM is high, approaching 31% over a decade.[1,2,3,4,5,13] Furthermore, diabetes is independently associated with left ventricular dysfunction. Diabetic cardiomyopathy is relatively common in the community.
