ABSTRACT
Solid lipid nanoparticles are the support of the speedily increasing the field of nanotechnology in drug delivery system and in research feild. The ability to incorporate drugs into nanocarriers offers a new prototype that could be used for secondary and tertiary levels in the drug targeting in the systems. This happen due to their distinctive size-dependent properties and provides the great possibility to develop new therapeutics. Different methods which are suitable for nanoparticles large scale production are described with their proper applications. Appropriate analytical techniques for characterization of solid lipid nanoparticles are photon correlation spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy, freeze fracture electron microscopy are described in detailed. As a consequence solid lipid nanoparticles hold the huge comfort for reaching the aim of controlled and site specific drug delivery systems.
